In 1992, Shannen was a guest on “The Dennis Miller Show”. She appeared on the fourth show which meant that host, Dennis Miller, was still in the process of getting used to the talk-show format. Early in the interview, she rudely asked him if he was nervous and went on to point out his eyebrow which was twitching nervously. This made headlines the next day and before long, he was routinely making an effort to make fun of her on his talk show.

Shannen and her dad are huge fans of top-rated American football team the University of Southern California Trojans, and when he heard his daughter was dating quarterback Matt Leinart, he was thrilled...Shannen says, “That would be the perfect son-in-law. My dad was like, ‘Oh my God, is it true, is it true? Matt’s going to be my new son-in-law.’ He was so excited. “Matt is handsome and he is talented and he is a great quarterback, but the truth of the matter is he was in the same club (as me) - and that was it.” Her dad was devastated! It just goes to show you can't believe everything you read in newspapers and magazines!

Shannen says she is ready to settle down in a serious relationship, saying “I feel really well-equipped now, but I think it has more to do with the fact that I’ve been single for so long and not dating and that I’ve learned a lot about myself.”

Shannen on 90210: My audition was horrible. I actually remember walking out and saying: “I lost that job. I blew it.” And the casting director came out and sort of winked at me and said, “I wouldn’t count yourself out yet, kiddo.” And I was like, “O.K., whatever.”
About on-screen reunion with Jennie Garth: "I never felt any tension. I never felt hesitant. Maybe it's because I've grown up. Everybody is a different person when they're 18 or 19 than when they're in their 30s," she says. "It was like I'm going into a new situation and I'm working with somebody I used to work with and, in a way, there's comfort there. For me, I knew it was always going to be fine, and in fact it has been."
Shannen did not get on with her 90210 co-star Jennie Garth when they were both teenagers, but since they both worked on the re-make of the hit show, they are now close friends!
She has been offered a place on the reality show 'Dancing with the stars' every season and has always turned it down.
On the Charmed episode "She's A Man, Baby, A Man!" where she dressed up as a man, she was actually making fun of an ex-boyfriend!
When Steven Brown (Transportation in the movie/TV industries) hung out with Shannen at Pancho's after working on Charmed he got up and sang the Kenny Rogers song "Lady" to her, and noticed she got a little teary-eyed. She had no idea that he could sing.
In July 2006, Shannen admitted to news and fans that she was enraged at a Star publication that claimed she had recently undergone plastic surgery. At the time she was on production of her new series, “Breaking Up With Shannen Doherty.”
She appeared on The View and told the news that the cover was not only false but so hurtful that she had to stop production on her show. “Production got halted for about an hour and a half because I was sobbing uncontrollably. If you didn’t have it (plastic surgery) and they’re saying that you did, then it’s embarrassing, it’s humiliating. I don’t know if anybody’s noticed, but I’ve pretty much been hiding out as much as humanly possible.” She also said “I’ve been trying to stay out of the press because I just don’t want it in my life anymore. I hired a litigator and I’m willing to put as much money behind a lawsuit as humanly possible, just to sort of teach them a lesson.”
She told Barbara Walters “I’m actually willing to go so far as to go sit down with whatever plastic surgeon they want to put in front of me who can inspect my face. I went to work and my lovely hairdresser David came to me and said, ‘Oh my God, did you see the cover of Star?’ and I went, ‘No, why?’ He told me and then he pulled it up online.”
Shannen has a passion for flying! In her free time she is taking flying lessons because her current boyfriend, Kurt is a Pilot. One time the plane actually had a lot of turbulence and Kurt started to panic which scared Shannen so much that she wanted to know how to control a plane if anything happened to Kurt while up in the air! She now loves flying planes!!
Shannen supports the following charities: Artists Against Abuse, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, American Diabetes Association and Glad - One Warm Coat.
