Nicollette Sheridan, an ex-Desperate Housewife on Wisteria Lane, is suing ABC and the show's creator March Cherry for $20 million. Sheridan's Edie was killed off the show via fictional electrocution, but there's more to the story than just leaving the show.
Sheridan is suing them on grounds of assault. She claims Cherry struck her in the head after she questioned something in the script. Apparently, not long after, her character Edie was written off the popular TV show.
The assault happened in September 2008 however and she's been off the show over a year. The suit was filed Monday in Los Angeles court.
"After she complained to her employer about Cherry's improper behavior, Cherry arranged to have Sheridan terminated from the show, resulting in her losing millions in future earnings," the lawsuit said. (Reuters)
Reuters also claims that Cherry allegedly apologized but then still killed her character off not long after the incident.
The report also lists the 7-count lawsuit's claims. "Wrongful termination, assault and battery, gender violence, discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation and age, and intentional infliction of emotional distress."
