Walk a Mile (In My Shoes)

Walk a mile in my shoes,

You can see what I been seeing,

I am not perfect,

I make mistakes,

I am not a cripple,

Nor a mute,

I am human,

I have heart disease,

I am hearing impaired,

I may have a handicap,

But Handicap does not have me,

I may be a little loud,

That the way I talk,

Sometimes it is hard for those to understand me,

There are times its hard to understand you,

So please be patient with me,

And try to walk a Mile in My Shoes,

I can not control what I do,

GOD wanted me to live,

So I can educate those around me,

It is hard for me to talk about this,

It is not something I brag about,

It is not contagious,

You will not get it from me,

Walk a mile in my shoes,

You will realize what it is to be like me,

It is hard for others to understand someone like me,

But if you stick around, you will understand,

Disabilities does not define me,

It is not what I am,

It is who I am,

Who am I?

That who everyone likes to knows,

Just sit back and I will educate you;

I am someone who is shy,

Once you know me, I will open up,

I am someone who does not like to talk much about my disabilities,

However when asked I am too loud then I have to addressed my disabilities,

I am someone who is sensitive about the subject,

I am someone who get there feelings hurt easily,

I am someone who loves life,

Someone who loves to laugh,

Someone who enjoys being around friends and families,

Someone who is a passionate and devoted writer,

Someone who does not allow her disabilities to get in the way,

I am someone who does not like to be ridiculed,

Someone who does not like to be judged,

Someone who does not like to be laughed at,

Some one who does not like to have eyes rolled at them,

Someone who does not like to be critized,

Some one who is funny,

Someone who is crazy or tend to be,

Someone who said the darnest stuff,

I am defensive when it comes to my disabilities,

I have to be,

You are talking about me

So before you judge,

Learn about me,

If you want to know more,

I am more than happy to tell you,

But just remember,

I am like you,

I breathe the same air as you do,

Disability people can do all,

I do not let my disabilities over run my life,

Disabilities is not what makes you,

It is what you get out of it,

And remember,

Walk a mile in my shoes,

And you will know.

Honestly it brought tears to my eyes :')

I think you are totally inspirational and if people do treat you even slightly badly just because of 'disabilities' then they need their asses whoopin'
