Mandatory Sentencing?

Mandatory sentencing means that you go to jail for a set period of time for a crime, for example, assult could have you go to jail for a miminum of 12 months, rape 5 years, murder 20 years and so on.
I get really sick of reading in the paper about some woman who was raped, and her rapist getting only 18 months in prison, and another rapist getting 5 years. It isn't fair, they should get the same ammount of time.
I think that all rapists should get a minimum of 10 years prison...not 18 months, not probation...
I have been raped, and it sickens me that the guy is still out there, probably preying on other girls.
I think all killer should go to jail for a minimum 15 years, although that raises the question of what should happen to those charged with assisted suicide.
Anyway, what do you think?
