Jax is a sad, sad story. This older Rottweiler has lost everything that is important to him. First, he was bought at 7 weeks to be a companion to a boy, this boy had a single mom who worked a lot and thought he needed a buddy. Well, Jax adapted to his role of friend, protector, and confidante, and spent the past 7 years doing his job and loving it. However, Jax recently experienced his first loss... his boy, his best friend in all the world, just committed suicide. Jax was found lying in the doorway of the room keeping his friend safe, and was disturbed when the paramedics took his boy away and left him. Now, after 2 weeks of this loss, Jax was still having a hard time accepting/understanding where his boy went. He would pace from the bedroom door to the boy's mother to the front door, and back again, always looking and waiting for his boy to come home. It was here that Jax experienced his second loss.. the boys mother was so distraught over the loss of her son, combined with the dogs neediness right now, that she brought him to a kill shelter and left him, along with a very long and teary note. She also contacted us to see if we could take him. He is neutered, housebroken, and good with people. He has not been with little kids since he was a puppy several years ago, so would do best in an adult home, and he would be thrilled to death to have a boy or boys to call his own. He is 7 years old and fully vetted. He will probably have some settling in issues with pacing and crying and needing reassurances. However, he is very responsive to people and love and will eventually switch this bond he once shared with his boy to his new owners. The reason we have Jax listed in the special needs section is because he is an older boy and has some arthritis.
