This is a picture of a Cane Corso (like shannens dogs) that is in seious need of help. He came into rescue as an abuse/neglect case about a week ago. He is suffering from a skin disease called mange. Mange is not contagious but it is a painful disease that causes the skin to break out into scabs which is caused by many tiny microscopic parascites. Mange can be treated but to dip a dog as large as him in the solution the number of times it takes to cure the diesase is very spendy. The mange is a result of his abuse and unsanitary living conditions before he was siezed, he is a young dog who has a great attitude towards life considering what hell he has been through. Homeward Bound is 501 (c) (3) registered and is a no kill, non profit orginization but unfortunately we recieve no government support so you help is greatly needed in the care of this dog.

Poor dog, I'm skint at the moment but I hope you get the money you need to go with the treatments.

Did you get sorted with the other animals yet? I hope you get to those who took the animals off of you.

So you all know i am not asking people to donate, i put that up just cause i thought if someone wanted to they could. I posted this to send awareness to people about the sad stories we get in out rescue. And the effects of neglect on animals.

I will post yet another sad story later today about Jax, the rottweiler.

here is another picture of the cane corso (Apollo) This one you can see how bad his neglect before we got him really was. He has started treatment for the mange but it takes time, but he is slowly getting better. His attitude towards people is great considering what he has been through, he is such a sweet guy.
