Because Dylan and Brenda had just returned from a romantic weekend in Mexico, and they were madly in love with each other, more than ever (remember they couldn't even help making out at a police station! lol). Jim Walsh behaved so unfairly toward them, specially toward Dylan, whose father was in jail at the time. It was painful to see Brenda standing there, helpless, confused, watching the hurt and desperate Dylan driving off... along with their relationship.

I started hating Jim Walsh after this scene when I was a pre-teen and watched it for the first time. Now that I have a good age to start having kids, I understand him better. I mean, he had his reasons. Actually, what was terrific about the old show is that all characters had their reasons for reacting the way they did, and this complexity was very realistic. Brenda had her reasons for being mad at his father and Dylan had his reasons for felting betrayed by the Walshes. And the Walshes had their reasons for not trusting Brenda. What a mess!

In fact, if my daughter dated an alcoholic abandoned by his parents (with dad in jail and mum sunbathing in Hawaii) I will probably be as scared and worried as Jim Walsh used to. I'm sure he cared about Brenda and wanted the best for her. That's not a crime. He tried so hard to find the perfect balance between confidence and authority, but he finally lost his patience. We can't blame him for that either, can we? Dylan was in his most vulnerable moment, he had his pride, he needed the Walshes psychological support, not a disdain. But Jim just didn't realize it because he was an imperfect human being with his pride too.

Brenda had much more to offer Dylan. Brenda's boobs were bigger, brenda was hotter and she had sex with Dylan before. Kelly only had her skinny body and blound hair to offer Dylan. If I were a guy I would pick Brenda. Dylan made the biggest mistake of his life by giving up Brenda for Kelly.

Saddest 90210 Moments

Ok so I have only seen seasons 1,2,3 (waiting on the rest of the dvds to come out... and be cheap)
AND I saw the last half of 8 and all of 9, 10
SO, I'm really not talking from a great experience...
It was really sad when Kelly was telling that story at the sleepover about her "first time" with the jerk guy... and sad when she saw him again at the reunion... but then Valorie actually helped her out.
There're SOOOOO many "dramatic" and moving and sad moments with Brenda, it's hard to pick. But when she and Dylan broke up (the first time) and she was so so devastated, that was so sad...
