Celebrity nutritionist Keri Glassman weighs in on Badass author Shannen Doherty's diet.

Breakfast

Shannen says: "I had breakfast on the plane. Eggs and stuff."

Nutritionist: Eggs are a great way to start the day, but egg breakfast on the plane may have added fat and sodium. Instead carry on a hard-boiled egg a few high-fibre crackers and a piece of fruit. It's super easy, and these foods are available at most airports.

Snack

Shannen says: I ate a lot of pecans, almonds and cashews on the flight but usually I don't snack a lot. Her biggest indulgence? French-fries. "I eat as many as I want."

Nutritionist: Nuts are a great snack, but your best bet is to bring your own raw unsalted nuts in portioned bags and drink lots of water with lemon. It's okay to indulge in fries once in a while.

Lunch

Shannen says: I had a burrata cheese salad, which was burrata cheese, green beans and tomatoes with a balsamic dressing. I have never dieted in my life, nor will I.

Nutritionist: It sounds like one of those salads that's more caloric than a burger. She could add grilled chicken, ask for a smaller portion of cheese and dress the salad herself.

Dinner

Shannen says: I went to a wonderful Cuban restaurant in Miami. I had steak and fried balls of mashed potatoes filled with ground beef. It was quite yummy, says Shannen, who calls herself a "steak-and-potatoes girl."

Nutritionist: This meal is loaded with fat and calories. And where are the veggies? If she's really craving beef, she could have a smaller portion of steak. But skip the fried mashed potato balls and have a salad on the side with corn.

Favorite workday lunch?

Shannen says: I like a good, greasy cheeseburger with french fries.
