Shannen Doherty says she is an actor "first and foremost" and not a reality star.

The Beverly Hills 90210 bad girl appears in new series Shannen Says about the lead up to her wedding to photographer Kurt Iswarienko.

But the 41-year-old does not like the label of reality star despite having cameras following her around for hours at a time.

"I'm 100 percent in denial," she told Life & Style. "I don't consider myself a reality star. First and foremost, I am an actor and always will be."

"For me, it was a documentary about a woman getting married and all the stress, pressure and fights that go along with it.

"It's not like I've turned to reality TV; Shannen Says is about this one particular time in my life. It's like the best wedding video in the world.

"Kurt and I made a pact that we'd be completely honest. We didn't give a thought to how we wanted to be perceived. Not everyone will like me, but that's okay because I'm just being me."
