She rose to stardom as drama queen Brenda Walsh on “Beverly Hills, 90210,” and actress Shannen Doherty also scored tabloid headlines with her tumultuous personal life. But the days of brawling with boyfriends and co-stars are long gone and Shannen, now 40, finally has grown up.

“The biggest misconception is that I only have one side to me,” Doherty told the Track. “People don’t ever consider how old I was when some of the crazier stuff happened, which by today’s standards is incredibly tame. And they don’t consider ... what was behind some of the antics when I was very young.”

Shannen and her husband, photographer Kurt Iswarienko, chronicle their path to wedded bliss in a new WE tv reality show, “Shannen Says.” It’s the third marriage for Doherty, who met Kurt when she hand-picked him to snap her for a magazine cover.

“I requested him to shoot me,” Shannen said. “We started dating two months after that.”

So whose idea was it to open up for the good, bad, and ugly that comes with a reality show?

“It was mine,” Shannen told the Track. “It was one of those moments when we were on vacation, maybe we had drunk one too many margaritas, and thought, maybe this would be interesting to do this together.”

A spokeswoman for Education Connection, a service that helps students further their educations online, Shannen is working toward a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts.

But life isn’t all term papers and exams for the blushing bride. Two weeks before she was set to walk down the aisle, Shannen’s wedding dresses arrived. Unfortunately, they weren’t the ones she was ordered.

“My dresses showed up and they were the wrong dresses!” says Shannen, who wed Iswarienko in Malibu in October. “I had a savior called (designer) Monique Lhuillier, and the women who work at the L.A. store swooped in and saved the day.”

“Shannen Says” will premiere at 10 p.m. Tuesday on WE tv.
